WHY THE NEED TO TACKLE
WOUND INFECTION

Wound infection is a significant problem in both acute surgical wounds, leading to surgical site infections (SSIs), and non-healing, chronic wounds. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is also a growing public health challenge worldwide identified as one of the top 10 threats to global health by the World Health Organisation in 2019.

The International Wound Infection Institute (IWII), are launching the first international Stop Wound Infection Day (SWID) by showcasing your research, technologies and initiatives on social media. Access SWID-branded campaign material, activities, and Wound Infection Awareness graphics.
